Exciting things are happening at Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina.
The Jeff May Sports Complex at Lander has grown with the addition of a new field house that opened Nov. 3 with a ribbon cutting and tour.
The 17,000 square foot field house will house the men’s and women’s lacrosse teams and the wrestling team. The wrestling room is now one of the largest NCAA Division II wrestling practice facilities. The addition also includes new locker rooms and offices for head coaches and athletic staff.
As the project’s designer, we worked with Lander’s Athletic Director Brian Reese, Vice President for Finance and Administration Stacie Bowie, the University’s procurement, finance, and physical plant teams in partnership with General Contractor Satchel Construction, electrical engineer Burdette Engineering, and mechanical engineer Peritus Engineers.
The field house was also supported by other individuals and organizations, including a generous gift from long-time Lander alumni supporters the Finkbeiners.
