We’re excited to announce that Fulton County Library System’s Evelyn G. Lowery Library was among one of the winners of the 2021 Chrysalis Awards, receiving the Community Impact Award!
“We believe that sustainability should be a priority and that sustainable buildings should have an opportunity to positively impact all communities. The Evelyn G. Lowery Library was no exception to this philosophy, and through dedication from the entire team, we took an existing building and turned it into a state-of-the-art facility that is highly efficient, LEED Gold, and worthy of a civil rights icon’s name.” – Will Bryant, Project Manager and Senior Associate.
Named for Civil Rights Activist Evelyn G. Lowery, the updated building focuses on sustainable spaces that are cost-efficient, a part of Fulton County Government’s master plan. Renovations included new windows, upgraded technology / MEP systems, flexible furniture, additional meeting / study rooms, a gallery of Jacob Lawrence prints, and children / teen areas.
The LEED Gold performance will save taxpayer dollars for years to come and reduce carbon and water footprints.
