Lucy Beckham High School Honors the Late Principal in Dedication Ceremony

The dedication ceremony for Lucy Beckham High School earlier this month honored the late educator and namesake while celebrating the future of students for generations. Lucy Garrett Beckham was a former longtime principal of Wando High School, and our original partner in the design of this new school. One year from the opening of the school, we were pleased to see how the school has served students and educators in the vision she held.

“Lucy always put students first. She instilled that in me and hundreds of other educators. Her motto was always ‘do what is best for the students,’ and that motto lives on today here at Beckham. Her impact was mighty and we will honor her with this building and all that we do inside it.” – Anna Dassing, Current Principal

The ceremony also recognized LBHS as a Coast Guard JROTC unit (the only one in SC and third in the US). It was a wonderful event to remember.
