KI Logistics, a subsidiary of Kimura Inc., celebrated the grand opening of their North American headquarters with a ribbon cutting ceremony on July 15 at their new facility in Piedmont, South Carolina. The 208,000-square-foot facility, completed by the Design Build Team of McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture and Yeargin Potter Shackelford Construction, consists of a business office area, conference rooms, and a warehouse and distribution building. The $11.5-million investment was successfully designed and built with an accelerated schedule of just nine months and is expected to generate an estimated 149 new jobs over the next several years.
Kimura recently announced plans for an additional 64,000-square-foot expansion which will create another 20 jobs for the South Carolina facility. The $2.7-million addition, also designed by McMillan Pazdan Smith, is expected to be complete this fall.
KI Logistics is a warehousing and distribution center for manufacturing customers in the automotive, pharmaceuticals, and consumer goods industries.
