McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture has relocated their Charleston office to 121 Calhoun Street in downtown Charleston. The newly renovated historic building provides the firm’s 34 local team members more workspace. The interiors can be described as fresh and “coastal” — a combination of clean new materials, historic wood, and plenty of neutrals and greys. The nearly 40 original glass windows and tall ceilings offer significant daylighting and views of the surrounding church steeples, including the adjacent Mother Emanuel AME Church.
“Moving to a newly renovated, historic structure in the middle of a city so rich in culture and tradition is exciting for a vibrant and growing architectural firm like ours,” said Charleston Office Director and firm Principal Tom Hund, AIA. “We’re looking forward to serving our clients and communities with even greater levels of inspired design and quality projects from this beautiful new office.”
Notable recent projects for the firm’s Charleston office include the Clemson Design Center in the Cigar Factory, Chabad of Charleston and the Low Country, and the future East Cooper High School for Charleston County School District.
