McMillan Pazdan Smith Celebrates Opening of Cane Bay YMCA

Cane Bay YMCA opened its doors to the public on April 27, 2019 in Summerville, South Carolina. McMillan Pazdan Smith, having served as the architect on the facility, was on-site to celebrate the ribbon cutting ceremony that officially marked the Grand Opening of the brand-new center. The day was filled with food trucks, sporting events, and tours of the facility, drawing in a crowd of all ages to see the largest facility of its kind in the Lowcountry.

The 54,000 square foot building has a wide range of program spaces including a gym with a stage, an elevated indoor track, TRX Training area, wellness area, aerobics rooms, spin room, afterschool program spaces for recreation and computer training, childcare spaces, an indoor 8-lane pool, administrative spaces, community spaces and locker rooms. Outdoor features range from multi-purpose fields, tennis courts, baseball and softball fields and a fitness/walking trail. Another differentiator — the building houses a local library branch with a reading room, multi-purpose area, community room, homework room, and study areas.

If you’re in the North Charleston area, stop by the brand-new facility for fitness and family activities!
