MPS Celebrates The Continuum's Ribbon Cutting

If our team looks exceptionally thrilled in this picture, it’s because they are. There aren’t many moments more exciting for an architect than the grand opening of a building that could transform the future of an entire community. This used to be one of the first Walmarts ever built — right on the edge of downtown Lake City in 1969. Then, it spent decades as an empty shell. Now it’s something special again: The Continuum!

Using glulam beams, a wood slat screen system, and lots of innovative design ideas, our team was part of this building’s transformation into an educational hub shared between Francis Marion University and Florence Darlington Technical College. The workforce education this facility now offers to a remote part of South Carolina is an important opportunity and one we’re proud to have helped create.
