100 East, a 54,651 SF mixed-use development in Greenville, SC, is a 7-story building with 48, one- and two-bedroom apartments above 8,757 SF of retail / office space on the ground floor. A unique feature is the rooftop swimming pool, the first in SC not located near the coast. The development, led by Russ Davis, formerly of Davis Property Group, completes the final phase of infill for the city block, originally spurred by the construction of the Spring Street garage located between East Washington and East McBee Streets.
The design bridges the historic character of downtown with some of the more recent and modern additions along Spring Street through the use of scale, material, and color. Large windows give light and air to the apartments and enhance the retail space. Offering a pedestrian scale and continuous canopy, the project extends the sidewalk atmosphere and vibrancy of Main Street, located just a block west.
