AC Hotel by Marriott Spartanburg
Awarded: Hospitality Design Magazine, Best in Hospitality and Product Design, HD Award Finalist, 2018
A new 10-story, 114-room hotel serves as a gateway to Spartanburg’s west end, changing the city’s skyline and serving as a catalyst for activity in the “Grain District” of downtown.
The new AC Hotel by Marriott is a collaboration between David M. Schwarz Architects as Design Architect and McMillan Pazdan Smith for production, coordination, and construction administration services. This is the third building created by the team, combining talents for the Spartanburg community. The hotel includes pedestrian oriented access to retail and restaurants in the vicinity and provide outdoor dining, amenities, and a landscaped street level garden. Designed to blend with the historic nature of a Southern city, the building incorporates traditional exterior materials and includes a signature restaurant, outdoor pool, fitness room, terrace, and a rooftop bar with a 360-degree view of the city.
OTO Development is the developer and operator for the project, which was completed in December 2017.
