Bon Secours St. Francis, Downtown Campus, Emergency Department
Bon Secours St. Francis proposed an addition / renovation to their downtown campus to relocate the existing emergency department and quintuple the unit’s current space. With more than 50,000 annual visits currently, the one-story, brick and glass expansion increases capacity from 18 to 42 exam rooms to accommodate 75,000 annual visits and keep pace with the rapid growth of the Greenville community. When completed in 2022, the project will include:
- “Fast-track” rooms to separate less acute care cases from higher acuity emergencies
- Holding rooms for patients awaiting laboratory results
- Senior-friendly services, such as large lettering, bright lights and neutral colors
- Behavioral health rooms
- New equipment to allow labs and radiology to be completed in the ED to accelerate turnaround times
