Coker College, Residence Hall
The new 48 Bed, 15,000 SF residential hall is the originating piece of a “Village” neighborhood concept. The 3-story building includes 12 suite-style apartment units, each with 4 single bedrooms, 2 full baths, a full kitchen, and a large living / dining area. The building includes a large wraparound porch at each level to provide social spaces for student interaction. Future residential buildings will be arranged on the site to complete the Village at Byerly Place and provide a bridge between the new Wellness Center (also designed by McMillan Pazdan Smith) and the existing campus. The Betty Y. + Charles L. Sullivan Jr. Residence Hall was delivered in a Design-Build delivery method in August 2013.
Adjacent to this first building, the Susan K. and Walter N. George Residential Hall is the second of six residential halls to be built within the Village. This second sister building was designed by our team using the same prototype with completion in August 2015. The DeLoach Wellness Center opened in Fall of 2014.
