Constantia Flexibles, Facility Master Plan and Addition
Constantia Flexibles, a European fabricator of printed, foil-based products for the food and pharmaceutical industries, commissioned McMillan Pazdan Smith to design a framework for future expansion and develop a strategy to make their operations more efficient and employee-focused. The resulting master plan, born from extensive programming and pre-design services, recommended numerous options for growth on the site, additions to multiple process lines, and the addition of necessary utilities to create improved, linear, and flexible operations.
Following master plan recommendations, the design-build team designed and constructed a 20,000 SF addition to accommodate a new processing line and added parking. The solution utilized precast wall panels and a steel structure for durability, reuse, and ease of erection. The work also involved 6,000 SF of interior modifications, including new locker rooms, a dining facility, an enhanced entry, and additional management offices.
