The Greenville Humane Society, the County’s only no-kill animal shelter, sought out McMillan Pazdan Smith to lead a creative team comprising of committed, local advertising executives and design professionals to transform a nondescript 10,000 SF warehouse into one of Greenville’s most recognized landmarks. Through a bold integrated design combining the Humane Society’s new corporate branding with the creative and thoughtful use of readily available and durable materials, the design team not only provided a cost-effective solution, but one that has elevated the Humane Society’s mission and public awareness to new heights within the community.
Making the most of limited time, dollars, and space, our design accommodates approximately 60 cats and dogs, features a dynamic lobby with retail space, a veterinary clinic with two surgery suites, additional kennel space for rescued animals receiving veterinary care, and support spaces for staff and volunteers.
This design-build project with the Harper Corporation was a truly collaborative process involving other design professionals on a pro-bono basis, including Erwin-Penland Advertising and Dailey and Associates interior designers.
