Harvest Park

Awarded: AIA Spartanburg, Community Impact Award, 2015

As a hybrid business that combines elements of a grocery store, farmers’ market, restaurant, community garden, and learning lab, Harvest Park in Spartanburg, SC was designed to create jobs, renew and grow vital community connections, and provide access to healthy foods in a community that has been deemed a food desert. Harvest Park also serves nearby students at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine and current patrons of the Hub City Farmers’ Market.

Community partners include local residents, Butterfly Foundation, Hub City Farmers’ Market, City of Spartanburg, Spartanburg Development Corporation, Mary Black Foundation, Spartanburg County Foundation, Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, Wofford College, Cleveland Academy of Leadership, and Spartanburg Housing Authority.
