Institute of Innovation, Cherokee County School District
The new Institute of Innovation provides a vast range of career and technology training opportunities to high school students throughout the Cherokee County School District. Located centrally within the county on Spartanburg Community College’s Cherokee campus, the 84,000 SF facility offers job-ready education in a flexible, state-of-the-art environment with more than 20 different spaces for both advanced technology and traditional vocational options. The 3,800 SF, 400-seat multipurpose room allows the school significant capabilities to showcase a wide array of careers through guest speakers, videos, competitions, and college fairs. By locating this new high school career center on the same campus as the county’s community college, this project creates synergy that will benefit the industries and citizens of Cherokee County well into the 21st century.
