Lander College, Centennial Hall
Certified: LEED by the U.S. Green Building Council
The 90,000 SF, 300-bed residence hall includes 75 suites with four private bedrooms per suite. The first floor contains a resident manager’s apartment, lobby / reception desk, community laundry room, restrooms, study room, and kitchenette. Each subsequent floor also contains a communal lobby, study room, and kitchenette.
With a traditional architectural façade, adjacent parking for 325 cars, and lush landscaping, Centennial Hall provides a definable edge to the northern section of Lander University located in Greenwood, SC. The slope of the existing building site allows for a 4,000 SF multipurpose room that will be wired as a “smart classroom” for study and student gathering. The basement includes a catering kitchen area, public restrooms, and storage for events.
The building is sited on axis with the dining facility providing a natural connection to campus and is the first LEED certified building on campus.
