Landrum High School, Spartanburg School District 1
Awarded: Association for Learning Environments (A4LE, formerly CEFPI), Best in Class Award, 2007
Our team incorporated innovative educational facilities and Landrum history into the design for Landrum High School. Architectural features reminiscent of the 1877 railroad depot, Landrum’s Station, provide a physical connection to the history and pride of the community.
The one-story facility includes approximately 40 teaching spaces, a career / technology wing, three science labs, and three computer labs. In addition, fine arts facilities include orchestra, band and choral rehearsal areas, a drama workshop, and two visual arts classrooms. The media center houses an additional computer lab, media production room, and studio. A distance-learning lab adjoins the facility. Landrum High School is home to a 650-seat auditorium and a spacious commons area. A state-of-the-art technology infrastructure supports communications, security and Internet access throughout the building.
