Lantern Health (formerly Avenu Health)

Originally called the Mission Innovation Clinic (formerly Avenu Health, and now Lantern Health), the project is a direct primary care prototype model conceptualization and roll-out to a tenant upfit space at 84 Coxe Avenue in Asheville, NC. The site is located central to downtown Asheville for convenience and ease of access. With a 3,500 SF footprint, the clinic is teeming with new ideas for primary care clinics — teaching kitchens, health coaching, staff showers for mid-day exercise, reading nooks, laptop charging and work areas, larger exam rooms to accommodate children and families, as well as point-of-care lab testing and medication dispensing.

The space is a blend of calming neutral colors with a clean and modern design features, such as sliding glass doors, shiplap wall accents, and metal paneled ceilings. McMillan Pazdan Smith helped the client achieve an efficient design, manage remediation issues typical of an older building, and aid marketing efforts through architectural renderings.
