Plasman, Automotive Manufacturing
Plasman, formerly MingHua USA, the first Chinese tier-one automotive supplier in South Carolina, chose McMillan Pazdan Smith to design their new, 238,000-SF, single-story facility in Greer, SC. Plasman’s new facility was designed to support the manufacture of automotive parts in line with their parent company’s detailed processes and requirements, as well as the standards expected by their OEM clients.
The building was constructed with precast concrete load-bearing panels at the exterior walls with a steel column and roof truss interior structure. In addition to dedicated space for injection molding, painting, and first-tier parts assembly processes, the facility includes three overhead cranes, Automated Retrieval System (ARS) high-bay storage areas, and approximately 30,000 SF of offices and personnel support areas. Key features of the project include 16 injection molding machines of various sizes, one 75-ton/35-ton crane and two 25-ton/10-ton cranes, resin feeding system with external silos, fully automated robotic paint lines, and high-volume automated storage systems
