NewSpring Community Church
Due to phenomenal growth, New Spring Community Church embarked on a building program to construct their first worship and education facility in Anderson, SC. The design-build team of Trehel Corporation and McMillan Pazdan Smith masterplanned a greenfield site and designed a flexible building for a dynamic, multimedia worship experience.
The team benchmarked similar church models across the nation before programming a two-phase building program. The initial phase included a two-story, 95,000 SF contemporary building. The building shell, constructed with precast panels and curtainwall, gracefully combines a material pallet of concrete, glass, and aluminum. Planning for the 2,500-seat sanctuary included consideration of sight lines, acoustics, seating, and state-of-the-art multimedia technology to ensure an exciting and intimate experience.
The education facility was designed to provide care for infants and to engage children and adolescents in multimedia praise and relevant religious instruction.
A dramatic two-story, pre-function area joins the sanctuary, a retail area, educational facilities, and administration and promotes casual interaction among church members.
