Northeast High School Stadium, Richland County School District Two

Introducing the Richland Northeast High School stadium project – a state-of-the-art facility designed to increase seating capacity, prioritize safety and functionality, and embody the school’s unique character. Made possible through the funding allocated from a 2018 bond referendum, this impressive 4,000-seat stadium includes a field house, weight room, training room, home and visitor locker rooms, press box, concession stands, and modern restroom facilities.

The high school’s replacement football stadium increases capacity, provides a safe and functional environment, and reflects the school’s character. The design involved removing outdated structures while preserving the existing playing field and track. New home and visitor seating includes 2,500 home seats and 1,500 visitor seats. Stadium amenities include a new spectator plaza designed to provide home fans a gathering place on game day. A new video scoreboard, stadium lighting, and sound system provide additional in-game entertainment.

A state-of-the-art press box includes nine rooms for media outlets, home and visiting coaches, and access to the video scoreboard and clock controls. The press box also features separate covered filming decks for home and visiting teams.

Safety and security were prime concerns for the district and became critical components of the design. Spectator separation was paramount to ensure fan safety and to aid in game day management for the district. The final design reflects these concerns with separate ticket booths and entrances into the stadium for home and visitor fans.

A new field house features home and visitor locker rooms and coach offices to support football and spring sports. The field house is organized around a new weight room that is designed to supplement strength training for athletes. Additional field house features include an athletic training room and laundry equipment for cleaning uniforms.
