Providence MarketPlace
McMillan Pazdan Smith was integrally involved in the masterplan and building design for the largest open-air shopping center between Nashville and Knoxville known as Providence MarketPlace in Mt. Juliet, TN. The 830,000 SF, 104-acre center is located at the entrance of a 1,000-acre masterplanned community known as Providence. Our team balanced the developers’ requirements with tenant specific criteria to create an economic development engine and a shopping, dining, and entertainment destination for the region.
As a regional “omnicenter,” meant to combine the best aspects of new urbanism and retail power centers, Providence is comprised of several districts and offers a multitude of services including department stores, movie theaters, medical offices, banks, single and multi-family residences, a retirement community, elementary school, and private lake amenities. Outdoor gathering and event spaces host a summertime concert series and provide zones for pedestrian respite and interaction.
