Ridge View High School Stadium, Richland County School District Two
Ridge View High School stadium is a state-of-the-art facility designed to increase seating capacity, prioritizes safety and functionality, and embodies the school’s unique character. Made possible through the funding allocated from a 2018 bond referendum, this impressive 4,000-seat stadium includes a field house, weight and training room, locker rooms, press box, and concession stands.
The project involved removing outdated, existing structures while preserving the existing playing field and track. The new stadium has contemporary auxiliary facilities to engage spectators and provide a premier high school stadium fan experience. Spectators watch games under new stadium lighting in grandstands that feature 2,500 home seats and 1,500 visitor seats. A new video scoreboard and sound system provide additional in-game entertainment.
Ridge View High School stadium press box includes nine spaces for media outlets, home and visiting coaches, and access to the video scoreboard and clock controls. The press box also features separate covered filming decks for home and visiting teams.
Spectator separation was paramount to ensure fan safety and to aid in game day management for the district. The design reflects these concerns with separate home and visitor ticket booths and entrances into the stadium.
A new, multi-function field house with visitor locker rooms supports the football and spring sports programs. An operable partition allows for flexibility and modifications of the locker room size according to the sport. An additional field house includes a changing area for officials, two storage spaces and an athletic training room. A new weight room features 14 heavy duty weight racks and equipment for strength training.
