RiverWalk at RiverPlace
RiverWalk at RiverPlace, a mixed-use development led by Phil Hughes of Hughes Investments, is a 90,000 SF, 7-story, 44-unit building with 40, three-bedroom and 4 two-bedroom apartments, Class A office space on the top two floors, and artist studios with available retail or office space on the ground floor.
The project used New Market Tax Credit financing and was delivered through a Design-Build construction delivery method within challenging time and budget constraints. Through the use of materials, the exterior design blends the commercial nature of the central business district with the West End, a center for arts and entertainment. The two upper floors provide tenants with dramatic views of downtown Greenville and the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Completed in 2012, RiverWalk was the first major development in downtown Greenville in nearly three years following the economic downturn of 2008.
