Rolling Green Village Senior Living
Life Care Services Development, the nation’s largest developer and manager of Continuing Care Retirement Communities, commissioned McMillan Pazdan Smith to renovate Rolling Green Village in response to the shifting healthcare needs of Upstate South Carolina’s elderly population.
This design-build project involved multiple areas of the community, including the Skilled Nursing Unit, where architects designed an addition of eight beds to the 44-bed unit, including six private rooms, a conference room, and a break room. The new design converted 22 beds in the Memory Care Unit into a Skilled Nursing Unit, providing short-term rehabilitation for residents and outside guests with recoverable ambulatory disabilities. The existing rooms were remodeled to meet current accessibility standards and given new finishes, a new elevator, and larger doorways, and corridors. Activity and living rooms were expanded. New corridors provide access to the Independent Living wings and the northern healthcare facility entrance. All remodeled areas received new finishes along with updated electrical, lighting, emergency, and life safety systems.
An unfinished level of the Evergreen Residential Care building was remodeled into a Wellness and Physical Therapy component, providing a wellness clinic housing doctors’ offices and exam rooms, a physical therapy/occupational therapy unit with guest waiting areas, staff offices, a residential kitchen and bathroom, massage room, and gymnasium. New locker rooms and bathing facilities are shared with the Group Fitness and Cardio Strength Facility. An outside entrance, waiting area, and cafe were added for the convenience of the general public.
