Starbucks
Commissioned by various developers, McMillan Pazdan Smith has provided tenant renovation services for hospital, hotel, higher education, and strip mall Starbucks locations across the Southeast.
Under the Indefinite Delivery Contract (IDC) with Prisma Health, our design team fully dismantled and renovated an existing full-service Starbucks located within the food court of Greenville Memorial Hospital. This included an expansion to the current back-of-house kitchen, new front-line service counter, as well as all new equipment, finishes, and furniture throughout the 1,184 SF restaurant. The project completed in 2016.
McMillan Pazdan Smith designed two new “We Proudly Serve” Starbucks for Prisma Health. These included the 250 SF café located in the Ambulatory Surgery Center at Patewood Memorial Medical Office Building and the 180 SF café inside Hillcrest Memorial Hospital. Due to their locations, each project had to adhere to strict building codes required for I-2 occupancy types as well as meeting SCDHEC regulations. Proximity to surgery suites and understanding of patient sensitivities required the mitigation of coffee aromas into adjacent spaces. Space was limited so an efficient design maximized usability and provided retail space as well as a pleasant customer experience, while still maintaining Starbucks branding and facility finish standards required.
Additionally, we worked with a developer to perform an interior upfit of a Starbucks located along Spartanburg’s main street and recently completed a Starbucks on Lander University’s campus.
