The Children’s Museum of the Upstate – Greenville
Certified: LEED Silver by the US Green Building Council
McMillan Pazdan Smith partnered with community visionaries and supporters when The Children’s Museum of the Upstate was just an idea until the grand-opening more than eight years later. Envisioned as Greenville’s place where children can be inspired and learn in a hands-on environment, our design team transformed the former 80,000 SF, mid-century modern library building into a place of creativity, exploration, and discovery.
Existing to empower children to discover their full potential, ignite a passion for learning and expand their view of themselves and the world, the new facility features 18 indoor, interactive exhibits, educational programming space, a café, birthday party rooms, and outdoor garden elements for further investigation.
The Children’s Museum of the Upstate takes its seat next to some of the community’s most heralded public institutions and has become one of the prime children’s educational destinations in the greater Greenville area.
