Spartanburg’s Historic DuPre House Gets Facelift

“Almost 15 years after it was moved to make room for a luxury hotel, the historic DuPre House is getting a facelift. Contractors are working to secure and preserve the local landmark sitting on the corner of Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine on Howard Street. The first phase involves protecting the 120-plus year-old house from the elements and further deterioration. The windows and doors are boarded up, and scaffolding equipment is erected on two sides of the house. A small amount of work started in the fall, but the pace has increased recently.”
