Tesla Opening Distribution Facility in Fountain Inn at Fox Hill Business Park

Tesla, Elon Musk’s electric vehicle company, is expanding its presence in the Southeast with a new regional distribution center in the city of Fountain Inn in Greenville County, South Carolina. The center will be Tesla’s first major investment in South Carolina. The news was first announced by the Greenville Area Development Corp. (GADC).

The GADC is the county-chartered organization that promotes and the enhances the economic growth and development of Greenville County. Tesla will locate its new facility in Fox Hill Business Park, a Class-A business and industrial park designed by McMillan Pazdan Smith for The Sudler Companies. Fox Hill Business Park was launched in 2020 as the first major business park developed in the county in more than a decade.

Fox Hill Business Park is situated on 172 acres. The Sudler Companies implemented a green construction process using CarbonCure Technology for the park, which captures carbon within concrete instead of releasing it into the atmosphere. The Sudler Companies is a family- and veteran-owned and operated development firm based in Chatham, N.J. The Tesla facility in Greenville County will mark the second collaboration between Tesla and The Sudler Companies, after the two companies announced a similar project near Tampa, Florida, in 2023.

“Tesla’s commitment to Fox Hill Business Park in Greenville County is a testament to the continued strength of our company’s partnership with Tesla and to the indisputable drivers that make the park and the Upstate a force in the logistics world,” said Brian Sudler, principal with The Sudler Companies in a news release.

The Tesla announcement is the latest major announcement for Fox Hill, which also saw the recent addition of Sage Parts Plus, a global leader in replacement parts for aviation ground support equipment. Sage Parts opened new distribution operations in Fox Hill Business Park in mid-2023, leasing a 103,049 square-foot building to accommodate distribution operations along with its new global headquarters that houses its leadership team, purchasing, finance, customer service, HR, product management, and other support departments.

Tesla’s new regional distribution center in Greenville County will not only boost the local economy and create jobs, but also demonstrates South Carolina’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.

The availability of versatile facilities like Fox Hill Business Park put this region in the driver’s seat for further economic growth.
