The Hub Breaks Ground in Spartanburg’s North Side

We are proud to be part of this critical piece of the North side evolution. This property was formerly the Sunshine Inn, a low-rent hotel with a reputation for criminal activity. Working in partnership, the City, Spartanburg Regional, and Wofford acquired the hotel and took it down. “The Hub” as the new, mixed-use commercial project is known, is owned by Northside Development Group. Wofford’s campus bookstore will move to The Hub. Recently, North side community members, city officials, and the development team gathered for a celebratory groundbreaking.

This development is on a key parcel (gateway) into the Northside neighborhood and will provide a food opportunity where there has historically been a food desert. It’s an important step in providing an equitable experience in the Northside. And there will be good BBQ!
