We are excited to announce that the long-awaited Opportunity Center in North Charleston has officially broken ground! Our journey began in 2017 when developer Homes of Hope acquired a 34,000 SF warehouse located along Rivers avenue. The strategic location enabled us to design something large enough to create a headquarters for local nonprofits, a business incubator, and a career training facility — all supporting the surrounding Charleston area. Local organizations including Increasing HOPE FTC , Center for Heirs’ Property Preservation, and the South Carolina Association for Community Economic Development have all partnered to set up the facility that will become their new headquarters. Through consolidating these three nonprofits under one roof, The Opportunity Center hopes to serve as a model and provide guidance for other nonprofits to maximize their impact.
