Designing with environmental integrity and applying sustainability concepts is something we strive for at every opportunity. We’re excited to announce that the Chandler Center for Environmental Studies at Wofford College received three Green Globes in the Green Globes Certification program.
The brand new, 17,525 SF facility features laboratory, lecture, and office space for the department. Sustainable design elements include a roof garden with non-invasive plants, borrowed light in labs and classrooms, an exposed mass timber structural system, strategically placed windows for natural ventilation, heat island mitigation, and controlled admission of natural light to reduce electric lighting and save energy.
